I'm doing a track/training day in my Griff in 3 weeks. I took out an insurance policy for the day with Competition Car Insurance. My question is if I claimed on this policy would it affect my NCB from my normal policy?

All the best

If you have protected NCB you would get away with it once.

I'm with Classicline and I think track day cover is included. But the good thing is, due to the nature of the policy, they don't need or use my No Claims. Which freed them up to use on my other car policy.

Maybe yours is the same?

It wouldn't affect you NCD if it's protected. But you've got that usual question when you come to renew "have you had any accidents, claims or convictions in the last 5 years ?"

Even with you NCD protected your initial premium could still go up, i.e. you'll get 65% off 5k instead of 65% off 1k.

All of the above might be completely wrong by the way.

I suspect that the question "have you had any accidents etc in the last x years?" relates to road accidents and not to accidents on track (in the same way that a standard road policy doesn't cover the track)...otherwise racing drivers would never be able to build up a no claims bonus for their daily driver.

Worth checking though!
