Reg Plate Value

I'm thinking about selling my TVR plate. I've had a look in the PH classifieds and the values seem to vary wildly. The plate dealers aren't much help either. It would seem that the number N18 TVR is worth more than E18 TVR, but both are considerably less than G1 TVR.

Does anyone have any idea how plates are valued? (I appreciate they are only worth what someone is prepared to pay!)

From the DVLA a plate with TVR in it is around £1000

A mate of mine is about to sell one I think I'll see what he is going to bung it up for...

Basically, That's exactly how they're valued.

Depends on how quick a sale you want, really, as they're such personal things.

I'd probably stick it on EBay with a high reserve. Imagine you should fetch £750+ without too much trouble. Not sure, but selling it now at Chrissie-pressie shopping time might be a good idea...

Someone offered me 1250 for V15 BEN!
bought for 800 last christmas!

Just depends what you can get for it and if the letters/numbers combination means somthing special to a prospective buyer who has a TVR!

Newreg has S70 TVR advertised for £1695 excl transfer fees and vat! that's £2096.00 all in. I guess they can't be in any hurry to sell!

I'm suprised that is the case, I would have thought that a single digit plate would be worth more.

I had V8 LMP valued at £500ish by Elite. Yet similar plates on the DVLA site are £295.

I don't particularly like the plate, but it came with the car so cost me nowt effectively.

I've come to similar conclusions and hope to sell mine for roughly the same as DVLA are selling similar types of registration for.

Pitch it high and then we can start a rumour about the new model TVR being named something appropriate....Straight 8 or something equally silly...

I don't think I'll have another TVR in the next 2 to 3 years so it seems a little pointless keeping the registration. I doubt the value will appreciate greatly.
