What the hell's happening in Blackpool?
Discussion
There are so many rumours going around at the minute, does anyone know what is going on in Blackpool?
I heard Samuelson's back as MD (God, is that permanent?) - what happened to the last guy?
And is it true that Ian Law has left as well? Do they have a PRO?
As for the models - seems the Typhon is dead in the water, and God knows what's happening with the Tuscan 2
All sounds like a total fiasco to me - maybe it's about time Blackpool were a little more proactive to keep their owners and fans in the picture, and, if any of the rumours are true, to take control and get the company sorted out

You're quite right Wedgie. All we get on this forum or in Sprint is insiders saying they've told about initiatives - but keep quiet for now.
I asked similar questions to you weeks ago - still no serious news released from Blackpool!
C'mon TVR WHAT IS HAPPENING, every week of no news is another potential customer(S) lost
And ludicrous slogans do NOT help.

If you read these pages frequently you will know that the first Tuscan 2 has been delivered to the first customer, it's all coming but give it time.
And if you read the news section you will see that dealers are getting them in too - www.pistonheads.com/tvr/default.asp?storyId=9450
Perhaps if the website was kept up to date, that would help. According to the site, you can still order a Chim or a Cerbie, no mention of Typhon, Tuscan 2 or Saggyarse.
It all smacks of the same old TVR attitude: 'why should we be proactive? We've got enough orders to cope with without' (no names, no pack drill, but the originator of that quote is sitting in a certain MD's office in Blackpool as we speak)

At least you and Wedgie & I are being consistent!
We moan and you promise it's all going great...real soon....well in the future.....sometime......
nuffink on the screen I can see
PS We are not expecting them to waste time on PH, just run somekind of proper PR to current & future customers!

Actually, they could do a hell of a lot worse than spend a lillte time keeping Pistonheads informed. Look at how many TVR owners (and therefore potential buyers of future TVR products) there are on the forums alone at Piston heads. In comparison, how many TVR owners/buyers do you think are regular readers of the weekly motoring mags like Autocar and Auto Express. TVR is in a highly specialist market - they'd do well to recognise the fact and pay a little more attention to specialist media!

They'd have to take their collecive heads out of the sand first though
. I'd be surprised if the last PR had a PC let alone browse car sites

I think you have to be a car nut to want a TVR and if you are a car nut you will almost certainly know about Pistonheads.....I think that in terms of demographics Pistonheads will contain a VERY high number of actual/potential owners so TVR risk alienating or ignoring the Pistonheads community at their cost

Fool you. Forums breed whingers / people with an axe to grind. The majority people are happy, Sure people have bad experiences and tend to complain about them on forums, See BMW/porche/Audi/MG/lotus forums and you will see.
I disagree, Aangm.
If you check the profiles of most people posting to the forums, they generally give big 'thumbs up' to the cars that they are driving and posting about. Those of us who drive truly specialised machinery (TVR's, Lotus, Noble etc), if not so much mass-produced performance saloons like BMW or Subaru, love our cars, but are not so blinkered as to pretend that they have no faults or foibles.
Hopefully you won't suffer all the frequent, known problems of a given marque or model if you buy an example, but at least you'll have an idea where to keep an eye out for weak spots!
If we winge about the running of the factory, it's usually because we desperately want the company to succeed, and find it frustrating when we see things that we feel could be so easily improved.

Welcome to PH. Please take some time to assimilate. Then you'll appreciate the level of enthusiasm for TVR present here.

This comment is not as daft as it seems....
This is not aimed at PH, but is a general comment regarding forums. In that context it is more than correct. It has a lot to do with the apathy of owners (of anything not just TVR) towards praising the virtues and the morbid, driven fascination to complain about the slightest thing (an "Americanism" that is breeding as fast in this country as the relationship between those prats Blush and Bair).
So give the guy a break.

Next question.
So at this point in time LA are you prepared to "invest" your 50K in TVR, if your are, then I wish you well.
Today is the day I cancel my order on the Tuscan2 convertible I ordered at the show.
I am prepared to vote with my feet, even if it does cost me my deposit!
