So it's 6 months now. Surely in early 2014 we should get some news. Maybe a sketch or a prototype soon?
A convertible and a coupe. German V8....?
I don't think it was ever the intention to rush something out.A convertible and a coupe. German V8....?
Six months is nothing when you have to create a whole new TVR company and all the engineering from just the badge.
I'm sure Les Edgar & co are working hard to formulate their plans, but if he does it right, you're in for a bit of a wait.

They were pushed into making in an announcement by the Russian after he spilt the beans prematurely. (No change there then
) and then they gave us a few ideas via interviews about the direction they intend to go in. No big promises or dates, just a bit of reassurance that the marque is in safe hands. They visited the the TVRCC stand at the NEC and spent several hours there then just before Christmas they visited a number of well known businesses in the TVR world based in the North after similar visits to Southern based businesses. So no big fireworks just doing the groundwork.
Remember as Roy C says they're more or less starting from scratch so while it feels a bit like it did when you were a kid waiting for your Birthday or Christmas we'll have to be patient.
Personally, I'd rather have no news than a trail of broken promises. (Again)

4-5 or even 6 years is probably a realistic figure to bring a new car out and get all the necessary type approvals, infrastructure in place. Longer if they want to make it sellable in the US.
I'm not going to be holding my breath for anything in the next couple of years at least.
It's all right Alex, can't see you Sag being worn out by then I'm not going to be holding my breath for anything in the next couple of years at least.

By then I'll probably have rebuilt it into a completely different car - a TVR special - lots of
different bits merged together...
...and maybe, just maybe, by then your Griff will be working perfectly as well.
Never know, mate, miracles do happen!
;)
The new F-Type is ok from the outside, but, quite frankly, the cabin is no better than a Z3, and that's awful. My Griffiths cabin is a lovely place to be, as are any of the Wheeler era cockpits.
I'm one of the people that have lusted after TVR's for years, had one for a while, but want to have a new one, to lodge alongside the present one.
I now have the money to buy what I fancy, but it has to be "right".
That means that you want to ogle the exterior, feel cossetted by the cabin, and thrilled by the performance.
Mr. Wheeler could do it, all we need now is the next step.
Get that right, and my cheque is in the hand of the dealer.
I don't care (to a point) how long that is, but the car HAS to be right, which Moleskins (apart from the raise in quality control and build quality) never got around to doing.
I walk round car shows and dealerships nowadays and nothing grabs me like the way the V8 TVRs did. As they say out there, "it's emotional". Too damn right it is.
I want the next TVR to hit me in the balls like a mule kick.
Here's hoping.

Not exactly what they were all about, then?
More bang for your buck, with styling to blow peoples minds.
You're all living in the past..More bang for your buck, with styling to blow peoples minds.
add 3% per year and work back to a time when the last new car was sold. Then bear in mind they weren't too profitable back then and you will soon work out a price..
The days of building and selling limited volume specials for 40k are long gone..

I'm very impressed with the looks, reviews and price of the new Jag F-Type Coupe... I wil have to go for a test drive to see for myself, but I reckon that car alone will have given Les & his crew a few things to think about !!!
I really do hope we get a new TVR i the near future.
Interesting to see how the f type prices are falling. I liked at the prices yesterday and they have really gone down now, even for new ones.I really do hope we get a new TVR i the near future.
Wonder if the dealers are trying to shift them and having issues...

Given the passage of time since the Wheeler era, and the price of TVR's then, they'd be around £60k now anyway. And given that a base 911 starts at £73k...........
Yep as I Said expensive I personally wouldn't pay £60k for another outdated plastic death trap....it would need the relevant safety features, Such as side impact / safety cell etc not too bothered about anti lock brakes and the like but if they want to attract a new breed of customers it needs to have all the safety bells and whistles....and I just don't think they've got the financial backing to take that 1st step....hence it'll be selling product to the die hard TVR Clan which spells the beginning of the end for me....I hope I'm wrong ...the cars if they do produce them will be out of my price range for a long time. A basic brand new unregistered Porsche 911 in my local Porsche dealership this afternoon was a Carrera @ £65,750 bargain! LolBuzz
