Hi. I've never owned a tvr but have put lots of thought into it for the last 2 years. I currently run a jag xjr and a 911 and am completely bored with both. So its time for one of these. The trouble is, I have phases of being set on one and then I change my mind. Lately I've been set on a cerb and now I like the tamora. I haven't had a chance to drive any yet apart from a griff a good few years back.

So I guess I'm going to open a pretty heated debate here, but I want the craziest, noisiest fastest most brutal car 15k can buy.

So which one???

I don't have one but that has to be a Cerbera.

Cerbera's are pussycats.

Get a Tuscan which has not had it suspension properly fettled.

I'm sure you'll find that exciting.

I actually enjoyed the drive of my Tuscan that hadn't been fettled up to 100mph. After that it was fine till you needed to slow down. That was exciting spelled SCARY.

Whereas the obvious answer is a V8 Cerbera, the ACTUAL answer is an early MK1 Tuscan. I was absolutely terrified of mine right from the first day to the last. The longer wheelbase of the Cerb, slower steering rack and more linear power delivery make them a far more controllable beast than the Tuscan. Where a Cerbera will be relatively smooth and predictable over a bumpy surface, a Tuscan will hack, writhe and twitch its way over the same stretch. Although the Tuscan does the everyday stuff better (town driving, lighter gearbox action, better lights, better wipers, superior fit and finish), they have an animalistic and twisted charm, and instil fear. If it's brutality you want, the Tuscan is in a league of its own.

(That said, I prefer Cerberas. Be warned though, they can be stupendously expensive to maintain).

I've been lucky enough to have owned a Chimaera 400, Cerbera 4.2, Griffith 500 and currently a Tamora so have had both cars you mention.

As previously stated...

''the craziest, noisiest fastest most brutal car 15k can buy'' = Cerbera. I would say this just about applies to any car, not just TVR's? IMO, it should be a V8 too. This doesn't mean discount a SP6 and its not because I have any issues with the SP6, just that I think the Cerb is best and more special with the AJP V8 that's all. Best to drive a few though and make your own mind up and in all likely hood there will be differences from car to car.

Having said that, I much prefer my Tamora (which obviously has a SP6) but that's just because its suits how I use my car, especially being a convertible.

You pays your money and...well, you know how it goes!

Good luck in your search and hope you have fun doing it.

Simply the one you like the look of, stirs you inside and you can afford. For me it's the emotion of the TVR that gets you and each one has something different, but sometimes one calls to you smile
