I'd try a green scouring pad and perhaps a bit of T cut?

If the plating is peeling or rusted (doesn't look that bad in picture) go for new pistons.

Thanks Mike, no rust or flacking and in good nick except for the crud. Will try some elbow grease and see where it gets me.

Hi Ian, after the engine and injection up-grades, any plans to bite the bullet for the latest/biggest brakes?

Hi graham
Yep gone for the brembos off the e38, currently refurbing them and have decided to order some new pistons. New pads and 328mm disks on order so hopefully job done soon mate. Have you sorted your monster yet?
Hopefully catch you at a TD soon!

Hi Ian,

I have a boot full of shiny and no so shiny new bits. They go on Friday and off for remapping next week!

It will be on a track day soon, assuming all goes to plan..

Good offer thanks Alex, but when I cleaned them the coating was knackered so I have order some new ones. Out of interest when you fitted your brembos did you have a mix of hollow and solid pistons? The two in both outer carriers are solid on mine with the two in the inner carrier hollow IYSWIM
