TVR article in The Sun
Discussion
If there's any truth in that article whatsoever (and obviously it being in the Currant Bun isn't a good start on that count) then I'm suddenly extremely worried for TVR's future. It was always a gamble to sell to a 24 year old with no experience (as far as I know) in the motor industry, no matter who he had behind him. PW's last act in charge may have been a fatal one...still, if it all does go Pete Tong maybe Ford or GM will step in as obviously no British company/consortium was interested first time around.
I see nothing in that article which is anything to worry about. In any takeover situation there is a period of change and uncertainty, and very often there are changes in senior management. In fact, for a Sun article it was refreshingly down to earth and non-speculative.
It is still very early days and we shall just have to wait and see (despite the continued protestations of PH'ers who seem to think they have some right to read the TVR board minutes).

Ouch!!! but well said, could'nt have put it better myself
There was an American guy at the Griff Growl (can't recall his name) who was going to buy the company but NS beat him to it. Anyone who was there may have seen him - he came in an enormous 50's yankmobile (not too common in Warwickshire) with about 5 of his business chums.
He said he had the only Griff in the US. The only way he could get it in was as a kit car - purhcase everything bar trhe engine from the factory and the engine from Power. Strange but apparently true.
He had a hideous striped shirt on. I wouldn't wear one like that honest.
Does anyone know him?

One was driven in from Canada (where they sold them legally) and it stayed hidden in the US and the other was a RHD car that an english guy took with him when he was working in New York. He was supposed to take it out of the US after a year but couldn't be bothered so it was sold and was re-registered as a Tasmin! Last I heard it was in Florida.

LA has spoken oh great one
I'm quite worried by the fact that Gordon-Stewart and Saxton left almost immediately after starting. On the other hand at least NS must have a strong idea of what he wants. Interesting times - just hope putting BS in charge ends up being a good move.....

The Sun article - the reason for this thread - is a cut and paste job unworthy of debate.
There is nothing in this article that we didn't allready know! In fact if you pulled all the info that we have had so far we could have written it ourselves!
Who buys the sun anyway apart from deadheads....geeees
