On a track set out on a disused RAF runway. Booked as an experience, I was hoping to get out in a V12 Vantage manual, but it ended up being a DB9 auto with paddles. It made me realise what great fun my TVR is. My Chim felt faster when I got back in it and just so much more alive. As a car to look good when you turn up somewhere, or cover big distances with ease, I'm sure it's great. Would it get me up at 6am on a Sunday morning, to go for a blast for the hell of it, just like my TVR can? No way! smile

I completely agree.I have a tvr cerbera and a brand new cls 63 amg . tvr turns heads everywhere , still looks fantastic today ,Mercedes though is for everyday use but looks like every other modern car. There is nothing better than waking up to a sunny dry day to take trevor out for a drive.

Welcome! wavey
I've driven the CLS 63 Bi-Turbo a fair bit. Deeply impressive machine, particularly for everyday use, everything you could want in a car really. I tried an SLS AMG and that certainly felt quicker than the TVR, whereas the DB9 felt slower, although it wasn't trying to take off on the runway at 150 like my Chim seems to want to above 140! smile
I really should look into getting a splitter fitted, although I kind of feel like it's the car's way of telling me that I'm in a seventeen year old fibreglass machine built in a shed and am probably going fast enough! yikeslaugh

I was looking at DB9's a couple of years ago when my Tuscan wasn't running well. Dropped the idea completely when the fault was tracked down.
Anyway should we start a TVR & CLS owners club ? Mine's only a 320 CDI though.

I've yet to find anything to compare with my tiv...pretty much everything has better build quality better road manners etc etc...but none of them get the heart pumping. None of them make me feel alive( read, if I don't concentrate it will kill me), none of them make me stand at the garage door grinning like a Cheshire cat, and none of them after the first day or so made me want to get early for a drive. And now I would be looking significantly into six figures for the performance
