Battery Conditioners

I am going away for 4 weeks at xmas. In the past I connected the Chim to battery conditioner (Porsche part) which plugs into the cigar lighter.

Somebody has told me that these are now considered a fire hazard. Has anybody else heard of this??

Never heard this before, rigorous testing of gear such as this means that these sorts of hazard do not exist under normal use and conditions. I leave mine plugged in all the time and am not about to change that habit.

I used mine for 18 mths. now apart from a small problem yesterday!
The only problem is if your leaving it for 4 weeks, you could come back to a flat battery-I left mine for 2 weeeks connected through a cicuit breaker, must have had a mains power surge and tripped the circuit breaker. Resulting in a very,very flat battery.
