Anyone owned a Marcos

At present I own an S2... I was considering up grading to Griff...... however just seen a few Marcos on the web and seem drawn towards them. Probably only a weeks fad,,,

Anyone owned one...????

Probs of servicing due to limited outlets ...???????

Opinions.....on Mantara Spyder ( realistic on budget).... LM 500 (toying with idea of house improvements on morgagae.

TVRs are great for ease of servicing.... I just fancy something a little different... however I am just an average bloke with with an average income

i know i am after a more modern one that but i don't believe technology was a gig step. Well i hope it was not..... i am not techinally minded so i would rely on a garage..... mind you i am learning/reminding my self of a fair bit with the S2 (i love going to meets n every blasting up at the same time....... something i might miss)

Mechanically the Marcos is a very simple car IMHO with very few purpose made components. There are a few garages around like Topcats in Bucks and Marcos Heritage Spares in Wilts and a few dealers also. The club is also very supportive. You need to drive one though to be sure it is for you and you are happy with the build quality. Also look out for rust - chassis protection is somewhat lacking. There are a probably more in garages being restored than on the road.

Great car to drive, similar seating position to a Caterham, so you feel very low and exposed. Very light and the good old V8 rover lump is a good combination.

TVR Griff or Marcos ??? - get one of each it's the only sensible option !

Its was my mate who has a caterham who suggested a Marcos after I sneered at the Caterham.... and over last 2 months the idea is growing......

Although lots of surplus funds in the house under improvements on mortgage( ).... really realy raely love the LM500 .... not a healthy love though in bank managers eyes lol

Ooooo get yerself over to www.marcosforum.com and ask away. Lots of knowledgable and friendly people on there, and most of them are housetrained too. (Chris Jameson excepted of course, but then he's a geordie so.....)

Don't mess about with the inferior models. Take some dosh out the house, and invest it wisely in a Mantis.

Or you could try and mail Aviator via his profile, he is an owner of a rather nice only one in thr country Marcos, he also works with us at the track on race weekends with the Marcos........
