now - given that this puts the 'S' into second car territory - what is the best way to insure?

I currently am with elephant - 'bout £900 per year

Does one tend to insure with the same insurer?

as a second car should I be able to get classic policy?

any advice gladly recieved!

It rarely pays to have both an everyday car and a sports car insured by the same company (except maybe Tesco's) as they usually specialise in one or the other.

Definitely go for classic and/or limited mileage policy on th S. After my Sunninghill renewal quote went through the roof for the Griff (even though I had made no claims) I can highly recommend MSM Insuranace who were cheaper than everyone else for me (I tried all the usual suspects mentioned on here). I suppose I'm quite rare in that my every day car could be considered as second car material.

I have both insured with Bell direct, as they offered to duplicate the NCB on the second car, and the price was reasonable. (a classic policy wouldn't suit me as I use both for commuting and business stuff.)

Have you tried Peart ?
I recently bought a discovery for every day use and they have mirrored my Cerbera no claims on the new policy for the discovery even though they are ultimately with different insurance companies.
