Who's used blue Renovo?

What results have you had? I'm just about to treat the roof on mine but I've heard it's a slightly different colour than the TVR Mohair?
Is it better?

Any comments welcome.

I used it with good results on my roof, but make sure to use the cleaner before the restorer. Also wipe any spillage off rear screen and bodywork straight away.

I've used the 'Blue' and it really made a tired faded blue hood look great.

Agree with the comments on removing splashed quickly.

I used the colour restorer and the waterproofer several months ago. The blue is not exactly the same colour but not bad.

Word of warning though. I've recently noticed tide marks developing - think I left it too long to re-apply the waterproofing and the dye has run. I'll need to recolour it.

Works well to re-dye your carpet too if it's Navy blue and has faded in places. Just don't get any on any light colours (it dyes them too).

In my opinion the "Blue" could be a bit darker, gave my roof two coats could proberly do with another. I also did the inside of the rear screen panel-that covered well with one coat.

If I were you I would put gloss top coat finish on the paintwork near to the hood as it makes wiping off the tiny spots of RENOVO so much easier!

I would also wait until warmer weather...

BTW the RENOVO plastic screen cleaner works well!

It's a slightly different shade but that shouldn't matter if both sections are the same age.

If, like me, your had one section replaced but not the other then there's a problem as they'll never match. I'm going to have to have the targa section recovered soon and hope it matches the rear. If not it'll have to be both.

I found that the more coats you give it, the darker you can achieve. My hood had 4 coats of it, and it is significantly darker now than when it only had 2 coats

The black was great as was the cleaner; stay away from the waterproofer though. Didn't last very long, Thompsons was miles better and cheaper

BTW - apparantly, the dye can be purchased from Saab and BMW dealers.

I personally think that it is the same as shoe dye, but I don't have a really crap hood to test my theory on

It's OK. IMHO not brilliant, I gave it two coats of the dye and two of waterproofer.

**Tip**

The dye WILL get on the paintwork, even if you mask it up (its very thin). Polish the area around the hood before you start. If, sorry - when, you notice the drips of dye that have dried on the paintwork it will wipe off easily.

500ml is plenty to do the roof 3 - 4 times (2-3 coats per time)

Ive done the wedge roof and there is loads left

Used it on the hood the other year, the only problem being when I inadvertently applied too much on two strips and then had one dark blue line, otherwise when the new hood was finally fitted I could hardly tell any difference at all, almost felt like I'd wasted £500 quid.. definitely worth it.. but from previous threds I guess you realise that
