Hi all,

This went live on Speedhunters last week, its a good read if I do say so myself.

"this picture should rightly put the fear of God in to you" "this Sagaris is a four dimensional thing and one of the most savage road cars I've ever experienced"

Looks like an animal of a car congrats, but.......

Why do so called car enuthsiasts have to put down such rubbish as the bit about you wouldn't attempt a trans europe drive in a TVR.
Of course you would. Have they never heard of lemans, have they never spoken to any TVR owners?

Its the sort of stuff that clarkson would say.

Hi Julian, just reread the article as I could not remember the writer Jonathan mentioning anything on these lines. He mentioned that TVR's have a bad rep which we all have to agree with but thats all I could find.

The sentence after the picture showing the rear wing, about your trip to spain. I can't seem to quote it. Anyway just a grip which spoiled an otherwise excellent article for me.

Perhaps I'm just being over sensitive drink

Hello,

Found the bit you mean, yes being over sensitive smile

On reflection picking a car with a new engine conversion up and driving straight to Spain was slight madness. My Sagaris broke down twice in its first 1,000 miles but I am sure that was just one of those things.

Paul....

I agree it's just one of those things they can't let lie and seem to think it's clever. I don't recall TVR ever having issues with cars spontaneously combusting like Ferrari did but that's not continually mentioned every time they write about the 458.

Very frustrating when you regularly see 'reliable' cars at the side of the road or being collected on transporters, I guess it's something we have to rise above and smile knowingly that TVRs are no less reliable than any other performance car.

Now your being sensitive David. Are you going to take this thing out for a drive sometime?

That would be nice, especially as I never managed to get a drive of the last one hehe

I guess we can then write an article that doesn't mention lack of reliability... wink

Unfortunately quite a few of the speed six engined cars did go up in smoke on their own, one of them starting the fire that wrecked half of Powers building.
But that can happen if you dont fuse the cable from the anderson connector to the battery.
With the speed six cars getting older and people doing their own work on them its probably a good time to remoind people to check the condition of that plug and cable regularly'

As for the rest of the unreliable stuff they are no worse than any other car if looked after properly and do make good rapid mileage munchers.

There aren't any new cars, realistically 2005 for most and the odd finished off one from later. As I said it isn't a common problem but it is one to check on regularly if you are lucky enough to have a Tuscan, T350, Tamora or Sagaris.

Pedantry at it's best.

No new cars? Really, well bugger me hadn't realised, I wondered why Bristol Avenue was quiet when I go over there......

Pedantry on what basis? you're the one who wrote "new cars" perhaps try explaining yourself next time because I really don't understand your comment unless you are trying to say when the cars were new in which case say that or you could just continue with the sarcasm.

If you can't read between the lines and understand that I was obviously talking about when there were new cars then there's not much I can do about that than other be VERY specific with my words for you. wink

BTW the factory closed in December 2006 so there were cars delivered in 2006 along with several others that were finished by the factory and remained unsold at Cicely Continental in Preston well into 2007.

Lets move on and let this thread get back to the original topic, sorry for the 'O/T' direction this thread has gone Paul.
