Took the front lights out today to change the pods over to upgraded units.

The vinyl seal stuff in the near side pod (that I presume was someone's pissed attempt at a air seal to make the fan system work) was rotten.

Has anyone come up with a way to make this system better ie work?

I was thinking of trying to form some type of conduit from the lower fan outlet up to the dash mounted fan in the hope that some air would then make to the sink drainage air pipes.

Thoughts??

Yep, your guess at the purpose of the leatherette is correct.

Try searching posts by someone called ANT.
Pretty sure he ran pipes all the way up to the matrix before he went the whole hog and moved the fan.
Only the pre-cats have the fan in the headlight pod.

I modified mine too. I'll have a look for the thread for you.

Look, do you want me to just come and work with you. It would be more fun than this keyboard warrior stuff wink

Not related directly, but you might also find this interesting, and something to check before you put all the carpets in.

Cheers.

I'm next working on it on Friday. You'll need your thermals, no heat in the garage. Lol.

wink

Found out today that it's had the mod in the footwell, someone saved money and put the bloody burnt carpet back.

Engine mounts are good, but someone has layered heat reflective tape over the wing heat shields, I'll cross that bridge when I've finished everything else.

Good news about the footwell mod eh.

The sticky back heat shield from Agriemach is brilliant. You wouldn't think it when it arrives but I've used it to great effect behind the manifolds with no problems.
I fitted it over the old heat shield and you wouldn't know it's there except you cant see the rivet heads.

Have fun on Friday in a horribly warm office with coffee and biscuits on tap. Shame I'm missing out on the fun eh!
