Just received my Insurance renewal and guess what!

It's gone up from £375 to... <deep breath> £3307. Apparently Axa insurance no longer class the Chim (1993) as a classic car! Hence the policy increase!

Are you sure it's just not a mis-print? Have they printed an extra "3" and in fact it's gone down

As a follow on question to this thread,
I am hopefully getting a pre-owned (I know second-hand)TVR this spring. It will be the 2nd car and as such will probably hover around the 5k miles per year.
I would like to ask if there is a recognised good deal insurance on offer for low mileage 'classic'use?

Sorry to hear the news Nasz. It's not all bad though - do a search of the forums for recommended insurance companies.

You could do worse than calling Privilege/Direct Line, Tesco, Mannings and Sunninghill (to name but a few) for a quote. You should easily be able to find one that comes well under your renewal quote...

Liverpool Victoria are worth a shout if the car is your only car..

However, I'm considering an alternative to the TVR to eat up the motorway miles and they won't do any kind of a 2 car deal so I'm looking around elsewhere..
