Reverse sensors for TVR's, are there any?

Has anyone ever fitted reverse sensors to their Tivs?, if so, what are the choices and are there any which don't require drilled holes in the bodywork or those silly gimmicky looking dash mounted gizmos that go with them. I would like either a reverse camera that works with my head unit, or just sound sensors that also work with the head unit/speakers, are there any available?
On my drive to and from work, I have to negotiate one track country lanes, and have to back up for other cars on a daily basis, but the car has such a large blind spot I fear that it's inevitable I will prang it one day!

I looked into that, I heard they wern't much cop at all!
Ideally, I'd love the reversing camera I can buy as an add on to the Avic X1 sat nav unit, but the problem is putting the camera somewhere discretly, I don't really want to have to drill holes in the butt, but whats worse, doing that or having to continue reversing practically blind?

i have a reverse camera(colour, which is totally over the top) behind my number plate(griff) the 10mm lens is flush with the plate, being in the black lettering, you can not see it. Not sure if you could do the same, if you can let me know(!!!) On these sensors: a Jag with them reversed up the bonnet of my Griff as i did not register !!

I thought it a good bit of kit and easy enough to fix. In my particular case it worked sometimes and othertimes not, but this was due to the TVR's rear reverse light not always coming on when it should.

The one I have in mind is colour too!! lol,, but,,, am not sure if I can fit it in it's best place to hide, the number plates, due to the plate being screwed directly on the exhaust baffle, and if it did fit OK there, I am pretty sure the exhausts would produce copious amounts of 'camera shake'!!! The only other vuable alternative is to fix it into the bodywork on the rear, but I don't really want to do that!

Just trying to recall the Tamoras dimensions, but I can't see any problems with the same tick, pedals could make it difficult though.
I hardly ever used the roof which made it slightly easier for me
Thanks for that Tripps,, problem is I need it for the country lanes, when it's wet, pouring down and muddy, I can't really take the roof off. It's used everyday so I need the camera/sensor for work journeys really, but, if I find I have to drill holes in the bodywork, I shall not bother, I may ask if it would be safe fixing a camera to the number plate, (although I doubt it, especially with a sports exhaust fitted!! lol)

How about them little round sensors< about the size of a ten pence. Ok you have to drill holes, but would they fit in the diffuser? is it hollow? they arent camera ones but Sensors emitting a noise when you get a certain distance set buy you. about £80 me thinks.

Yes, the exhaust 'screen/diffuser' is quite thin, the number plates are fixed into it with screws, I will have to check to see if there is any vibration from the exhausts, if not, I may give that a go, but it needs to be integrated with my AV box for the sat nav unit.
PS, no way do I want ABS or air bags, just want to see where I am going when reversing!
"Spal" do reverse sensors that do not have to be drilled.I have an account, as i have no interest, i forget how much they were, i can find out though. They sit behind the bumper, etc, but i kinda think, you want that camera ! How big is it? i can get me grubby hands on some quite small ones. Most of these cameras are extremely wide angle and can be fitted in the most unlikely places and are even better if they show some part of the car, to give an idea of range. The one on the Griff has no part of the car showing and its a bit hairy as to how close you actually are. My Rangie has two, first one pointing staight back and then as you reverse towards the horse box, switch to a camera pointing down, so i can look most cool when hitching up, straight onto it without turning my head.

It works with my sat nav display screen, but if you think there are others that would fut, or are cheaper for more or less the same thing, I'd consider them!
I've had another good look at the back of my Tam (a very dirty rear at that!), and, because I have the super sports exhausts, the silencers arn't pushed up against the 'baffle' that the number plate is attached to, so I think it would fit there!Is that colour ? its a good price if it is. Its looks like a full kit but sometimes you have to add switching boxes etc. It also looks a good size, probably around the same size as my one. You might want to look around for others, after all its only a video signal, ntsc is the norm for these. Farnell, RS, Maplin all sell them.

Yes, it's colour David, I am toying with the idea of having the'lens' half of the camera srewed to the outside of the reg. plate, and the other half fixed on the inside of the plate, I think that would work, it just means drilling a small hole for the wiring and fixing a grommet in place, I think!!
