Neither would I, but there are lunatics out there that do like to drive

Fook, has the world actually gone mad?!
Wouldn't it make more sense to ban cars like the 'Prius' on the basis it takes a lot more carbon to make the glorified bloody milk floats?
Driven through Paris several times on motorbikes and TVR's and going through again on our way to Mugello for the Italian Moto GP [photo op' for other couple who've never been] I'm not a fan of the modern world, it sucks. [though mine is a 200 car]

Something similar is coming to central London in 2020 but applies to newer cars than 1996. You will have to pay for the privilege of driving at £12.50 per day!

What's worrying is that it seems that this may not be restricted to major cities. Has anyone heard more? I heard a rumour that they were trialling it, or proposing to trial it, in some Sussex villages? It'd be a shame if one's right to take a classic for a spin is possibly at risk of such a threat

Thanks

Matt

I fail to see how this could be enforced?

Yeah, but unlike cities, where you go "to" them with villages you drive "through" them so what are you meant to do when you arrive, unexpectedly, at one of these islands of stupidity run by the local despot?

No idea! Self-flagellate while hugging lentils? Turn round & burn more fuel going round the exclusion zone?

It's madness, but the sort of madness that could become law if the classic car lobby don't, er, lobby against it with some pretty cogent reasoning, I'd imagine

I prefer to walk through Paris, otherwise you cannot experience the exquisite mulch of dog faeces under foot nor the fetid stench of the unwashed.
