Trackers

I am hoping to pick up my Tuscan S soon and have been ringing around for insurance quotes. Most come back requiring a tracker. I have no idea whats available and whats good / bad - Is anyone able to offer some advice.

my view on trackers has been severely dented after the programme about nicking the sagaris.

Not sure if you are still looking but the newest systems are the Thatcham CAT 5 driver recognition - someone steals your keys and the system activates.
Lot more to it but don't want to go on!!!

Also you always own the system so you can move it form car to car.

There is also a system where you can monitor it on your PC, log all your trips, speeds etc.

Cant help with info on trackers but I had the same problem with these requests when trying to insure my new MK2 a few weeks ago until I called Privilidge who insured my new Tuscan for less than my 5 year old Integra Type R with no mention of trackers !!! Bargain !!

I know someone reliable who can supply and fit them for a reasonable price (or anything else electrical in your car for that matter, ie. stereo systems, upgraded alarms etc). He does this professionally for a living and has done for many years for a small company, but also does some private contract work for himself. He is also quite mobile depending on how far you.

Mine has a factory fitted tracker (tracker.com).

It's the cheapest system: Tracker Retrieve. costs about 110 quid a year.

Never had it stolen so dunno if any good. :-)

if you take out insurance with AA they will fit a traker for free! you only need to pay for your yearly subscription
