Drifting off the original factory spec on all marks?
Discussion
Come off it, there's no such thing as a 'standard' TVR
if the old firm was still running today they still would be using whatever came to hand and making changes as they went along, same as they ever did
what wrong with taking advantage of more modern tyre techology, dampers, brakes, engine ECU, better cams, bush material , paint etc etc
I agree about not changing the styling but these were modified cars in their day and they will continue to be modified, because thats what a lot of car nuts like doing

Agreed
but does turbos and Superchargers push the limits from what especially Chim/Griff makes were meant to be...beautiful sounding V8's
No,I think a well looked after Turbo or Supercharged chim or griff only adds to the lure of owning a TVR. I am sure Bristol Avenue would have released V8's with turbo's or supercharges fitted .but does turbos and Superchargers push the limits from what especially Chim/Griff makes were meant to be...beautiful sounding V8's

She looks beautiful, but to me no longer a TuscanYes obviously not a standard 'Factory car' but interesting and cars as well built/converted will always have value.

People have their own opinion on what they want from a TVR, and thankfully they have the freedom to do whatever they like to their own cars.
My Tuscan suits what I want from a TVR and I'm therefore happy with the spec and configuration that the factory provided so no modifications for me. If I wanted more power, more bling, or wanted to shave a few tenths of my track time then I'd happily modify for that purpose.
Don't be under any illusion that we are the guardians of purity and have to keep them entirely original for the sake of future values, TVR's are rare but not 'that' rare. I'd much prefer to see a LS engine Tuscan or supercharged Chimaera out on the road being driven, than a perfectly preserved one sitting under a dust cover in the back of a garage.

Let me tell you that if this car was for sale and I had the cash I would buy it over any other TVR out there.....I love that people continually push whats possible with new tech on these cars to improve them or make them more powerful.
Generally the work of the engineering and design of the guys who upgrade or modify their cars is above and beyond anything you see in any other car circle.
I would possibly agree with you if the workmanship was shoddy or the cars were bodged, but this doesn't seem the be the case (although I'm sure there are some exceptions)
