New cams engine out job?

Not that i need a new cam but i asked myself the question if i need a new cam do i have to take the engine out. I think so but am i right?For a griffith.

on a wedge you can do it with the engine in.

Not done it myself, but I believe it can be changed in situ in a V8S (which has a similar engine bay to the Griffith/Chimaera). I think the issue is whether there is enough space in front of the engine to clear the cam as you pull it out. The V8S has a removable cross member in front of the front pulley, and with the exhaust removed there's quite a lot of space.

My Chimaera didn't need the engine out. You have to remove the radiator and all the gubbins in front of the engine, including one chassis cross bar (this must have been bolted into place).

Neither did my Griff need to have the engine out to do the cam (and much of the front part of the engine too )

I am on my second cam , you don't need to take the engine out at all, but don't just do the cam that is a big mistake. For whatever profile cam you put in you will need to set up the follower clearences.
