Well it's being advertised as an RR or S performance. It's going to be easy to check it out, then.

Isn't it a strange thing to do to try and flog a specialist vehicle that's as good as this purports to be in anything other than the specialist market it had come from?

I'd only buy from one of those roguish yet loveable TVR independent specialists* or a fellow PHer where I knew the history, even though you could check this out I wouldn't start by looking for a half-decent car there!

Still a bloody good price, currently at 16k, with full main dealer S/History. For that even if the engine went bang it'd still be a bargain.

Post script - I see you're a TVR-aspiring student in Eastcote area, Chris. Is it a Tuscan you're after? (only asking because I'm relatively local and have a smidgeon of experience with TVRs now)

Yep, its the Tuscan for me, although I think I'm a fair few years off yet. I was going to ask you if you were at the last Ace meet as there was a car there that was very simillar to yours.

Just been looking at the bidding history - one user (derk1964) has raised their bid three times without anyone else counter-bidding - I'm guessing they might work for the dealership and are artificially raising the price.

Well, Ron if you need a navigator... I went up there in a chimp in December, the Tuscan seems to have a lot to live up to, but Im sure it does so.


If someone makes a bid while you are the highest bidder, doesnt it automatically outbid them if your max bid is above theirs? If this were the case, then it may explain why that guy is shown as having rasied his bid...So far as I know, it doesnt give away your max bid until someone beats it....

Yeah, I think youre right. It says:

"Only actual bids (not automatic bids generated up to a bidder's maximum) are shown"


This guy has no feedback, but has been a member since 2003! Perhaps hes only been a spectator until now?

Almost certainly the dealer, I know a few dealerships that do this. They say no reserve but then place a bid using a third party user to the amount of a 'reserve' this way they dont have to sell for less than they want!

If you look at the times next to the bids (in bid history) you will see that "jonathanncl2"s bid was made before the 3 bids by "derk1964" so derk was just trying to outbid "jonathanncl2"s and it took him 4 attempts to do so.
