On my way to the TVR NL CC event, but sadly didn't make it. Horrendous traffic jam on the E40 meant that the hose from master to slave has failed, spraying fluid all over the exhaust manifold.

I can lift the car and work under it safely with axles stands, but I have no idea how to get hold of a hose. I presume I could get one made up, but not sure how to go about that especially with no transport.

I have managed to get myself and the car to the Campanile in Gent, I could probably get back to Dunkirk as long as I ensure there's no traffic, but it is much much more difficult rev matching in a Cerb than my 928 (which I have previously driven back home from the Ring with no clutch).

Any thoughts or suggestions welcome.

Also, many thanks to 'bosscerbera' who stopped next to me on the hard shoulder in his beautiful Mercedes W180? and wasted no time contacting friends who might be able to help. Obviously I had no idea who he was until he mentioned his PH name...

From seeing the hose on my car I don't think that it is anything unusual and any hydrolics place would be able to make one up by taking along the old one.

This looks like the kind of place I was thinking of. (Not used them and found via Google)

The only thing is that you may end up with a non shiny black hose, although this won't affect its operation.

The distance is not so important, it's the number of junctions that counts (especially red lights). bosscerbera has also just texted me their details, and I reckon this is probably my best bet. Thank You - much appreciated everyone.

Unless I'm wrong, it could be one of two hoses. The one from master to slave, or the one coming back from slave to the top of the engine for bleeding.

I hope it's the second which will be an easier fix.

looking on the map it looks like passion is on a major route and so SHOULD be without much stop start. Set off at 5 am before the traffic? Have you got an AA card? Get it low loaded ?

I'm just outside Gent (10 minutes away), with a LR Disco, car trailer, well-equipped garage (private, not commercial).

You can PM me via my profile if I can help smile

Don't know what sort of hose it is, but I've got a couple of flexible brake hoses here.

What an absolute star! Thank you so much for your offer. I am going to try my best to get to Passion early tomorrow morning. If that goes horribly wrong it is good to know that there is a very generous PHer willing to help out - but I hope you don't hear from me. Thanks again - Paul

If you need an interpreter, I speak fluent French which the Belgians may speak more than English.
I'm reasonably free all day tomorrow. Will PM you my numbers. Call/txt if you're in a pickle.

Sorry that I am not familiar with the cerb but if you get the pipe off at very worse could someone not splice in a repair if they cannot match the ends?

Hello, I realy hope you can repair your cerbera so that I can have the pleasure to see your nice car again in Zolder.
I live too far away from where you are, so it is difficult for me to help.
I am leaving home to Zolder now.
Good luck.

Christian.
