TVR Chimaera gets ACT upgrade
Induction upgrade adds more torque
If you're a TVR Chimaera driver and want more torque, ACT may have just the product for you. ACT has widened its range of induction pipes to include the TVR Chimaera and Griffith.
The new pipes offer an instant and cost-effective increase in power of about approx 10lb-ft of torque, mainly resulting from the smooth inner surface of the pipe.
Future developments include a widening of the company's range to include other performance enhancement products from well-known brand names. ACT will also be developing its own induction upgrades for Speed Six-engined cars and the Honda Civic Type R.
ACT makes carbon fibre induction upgrades and a multitude of performance upgrade products for TVRs as well as other makes.

I wonder if you would have to tell your insurance company since you would only be replacing some pipes and changing the Pipercross filter for a K&N
The filter could not be classed as an upgrade as it is the same type, ust different brand as the standard item, and if the pipes were ordered in black, would anyone be able to tell any difference?

Most people find that their insurance companies do not care about slight or medium mods... Probably best to check first though 
What gets me is the number of pipes in the picture.. I will have to have another look under my bonnet to see how many I can identify. For that matter, how many I can actually see without taking apart.

Always tell them. They are insurance companies. They are looking for reasons not to pay out. If you get inspected (e.g. a write off or a large claim) and they find something not OEM, they can refuse to pay. Most places won't charge you a large premium change if any so its just not worth it.

Yes i agree that insurance companies should be told about any modification no matter how small, the premium shouldn't go up as a result of fitting non original pipes though.
Rob to answer your question, yes these can be "DIY" or driveway mechanic fitted, the only thing i will say is that the Chimaera is the most awkward as it is difficult to reach the pipe behind the front grill/ in front of the radiator.

Thanks Tim. Hopefully I'm just about to come into some cash and have been thinking of spending it on the car. Looks like remap, injectors and pipes 4 me.

..but I should point out the price below excludes VAT. I mailed Tim yesterday (thanks for the quick reply) and they're made of thick walled rubbery stuff (technical term
) to keep the heat at bay. Think I'll treat the car to one of these kits and a set of magnecore (sp?) leads at it's 30k service.
Big brother is watching you. Earlier in the week I needed some new leads from ACT. ABout two working hours later they plonked on my desk. I think Tim must spend his day in some sort of 'International Rescue' style secret headquarters surrounded by banks of monitors. "Hmmm, I see Pete is still struggling with that misfire, he'll be needing some new leads soon. Better break a set out of stores and get them packed up. Yep, there goes the phone ..."

You need to contact a K&N dealer, we aren't as such and only carry TVR Sizes.
K&N will without doubt have one listed to suite your needs.
I can get Hi temp flexi tube in to order email me with length etc
