Hello. appreciate any advice. just about to book my first TVR service (3rd for the car). I know there has been a great deal of debate on this topic. But would appreciate if anyone would recommed someone in the Berkshire/Hampshire region (although willing to travel greater distance if required). Obviously being a public forum - if there are any negative recommendations, please email me through my profile - that would also be appreciated. Thanks...

PS - 100% would consider any independents..out of warranty and not too worried about the official stamp.. hope everyone agrees with that comment???

Racing Green TVR Ash Vale - great team of people, incredibly helpful and friendly. Plus their laser alignment and balancing equipment is as good as it gets, and well worth it.

As far as official dealers go Silverstone and Racing Green.

Independants there are loads who come highly recommended.

Now I am not sure if TVR are exempt from such things but under Block Exemption there is NO way that a manufacturer can force you to use their dealer network to service their cars and the warranty MUST be honoured if a specialist of a certain skill level has regularly serviced it.

Which should in theory, as long as TVR arent exempt, be good news for the independants...

Given the way I've been treated at main dealers, the only one I'd ever use is Silverstone.

As for independents I'd happily use and recommend (and have done so); David Batty, Leven, Austec, Joospeed and APM.

I've never had a problem with Barnet (except for forgetting to wash my car as part of the service), but you do pay for what you get.

On the other hand, they are more than happy to help out with the occasional niggle for little more than beer money.

Mine goes to Racing Green, always pleased with the work they do. It's also worth it just to spend time browsing their stock in the showroom, the clasic Jags upstairs are stunning (as are the modern TVR's downstairs!).

A whole bunch of top boys that really know their stuff - lots of satisfied PHers have used Austec...

Some of you guys are spoilt for choice!
Am going to get David Hendry to carry out some warranty work for me, are those guys OK? (only 40 miles away!)
