well, apart from the matchbox ones when I was a kid 
I've been saying I'll do it for a while, looked at porsches as an alternative but don't get on with them (not enough soul) but I reckon I'm finally ready to buy a Tiv.
It'll be a second car, I now have a toasty heated garage for it to sleep in and i'm aware they need re-bushing every 5 minutes.
Don't know the ins and outs of the different models which leaves me with one problem... which one

If it was me I would buy a Tuscan which is my plan.
Keep my Chim and keep adding to the stable until I have the full set

When it turns up you will know-- no advice needed.
Dont pay to much attention to all the gloom and doom merchants.

I spent a year looking at TVRs before buying one. First of all you need to check your budget. TVRs cost money to buy and maintain. If you take your time and really look around, you will find one that fits your budget.
I could tell my Chim 450 had been garage kept. Look for any signs of water leaks, etc.
TVRs are not usually daily drivers cars. Mine was strictly for the weekend, and hoped it didn't rain. If you want to drive it every day, I recommend the Porche.

Not really decided on budget either... I could spend £5k and get a wedge, or £15k and get a grif/chim etc.
What would be your opinions on the different cars? I love the look of a late chimeara but would have to do something about the ridiculously small wheels
also it will be my first powerful rear drive car, should i take advanced lessons, trackdays etc... don't want to destroy it before i've got it into third

Take mine out rain or shine---and it doesn't leak.
Did more miles in the TIV last year than the daily driver--over 12000 miles,never let me down.

I have a sneaky suspicion mine will be out all the time as well... but will cut down on insurance... what classics are there? I know about Vixen and wedges, anything else worth a look for cheaper insurance etc?
I'm not going to use it for work though, can imagine the response I would get growling up to somebody's front door in a Trev, shaking their windows out of their frames and trying to charge them 2.75%

At least TVR specialists don't have my closing techniques or I would be completely bolloxed
I'd end up driving away in a speed 12 
Pleased to say, had an encouraging chat with a guy at WLA specialist cars in larkfield who reckoned I should go for a chim or an early grif... for about £13k
I don't have any experience driving top end sports cars except a couple of blasts in ferarri's when I worked for a classic car dealer in my yoof!
