Spotted at Stoney Cove

Green Chimaera spotted at Stoney Cove Dive Centre on Saturday. I am surprised that you could fit all of your Scuba gear in the boot, but I am glad you did, as it sounded lovely when you turned up at 6am

Wasn't me, but I'm often down there in my blue Chim. Can vouch that you can get 3x cylinders, 2x complete diving kit + 2 drysuits in a Chim.

I have never tried packing my gear into the S, perhaps I will give it a go in the summer. I can't get the cylinder in the boot if the roof panels are in there.

And two sets of gear? I doubt it.

I keep an eye out for you next time I am up there.

Aaah Stoney Cove - a fine stomping ground on a hot thursday evening.

In my mind water was only made for one thing - to be on top of at speed, underneath is for those who if they had one more brain cell - they'd be a tree.

I used to ski my knob off there as long as there was daylight and the Neoprene soup had been strained (2:00pm was rubber boys kick out time as I remember).

All finished off with a pint on the balcony - yummy.

One of the owners was usher at my wedding

im not usually at Stoney though .. Vobster/ Chepstow, and Weymouth sailing academy for me

I suppose that this is what the courts call mere vulgar abuse. SCUBA is still one of the world's fastest growing pastimes, exploring the undersea world is a fantastic mental stimulation. Of the very many SCUBA divers I have met I would say that the average IQ is a lot more than one brain cell more than the average water skier. What can possibly be the attraction of tearing round after a noisy boat getting cold and wet without seeing anything interesting? Seems pointless to me.

You can't beat a days diving in the winter (OK - apart from a day hooning the Tiv). A couple of 40min dives in water at 7deg, and I am still smiling

And I dive in a 7mm semi-dry

Im sure it takes a lot more than one brain cell to ensure safe diving, compared to being towed on a piece of string behind a boat.

Which is exactly why I love nothing more than blasting my Chim down to Stoney for a days diving!!!

Trilaminate drysuit for me - I dive all year round.
