Whilst on my way on a pointless mission to B&Q (buying everything at once is such a stupid thing to do as it means fewer "I've just got to pop and get a new bubble for the spirit level" journeys).

I was on A43 from Silverstone to Northampton - a particularly fantastic piece of Co Euorpean funding, know locally as Bernies By-pass with only one pair of fixed cameras when In the rear view mirror i noticed a beady pair of halogens about 400 miles behind me.

Little did I know it had missile lock on me as a second later after the Tiv twitch (the rapid eye movement over all instruments just to check everything is ok, sometimes known as Tiv Turets when accompanied by the shout of "yes" when all needles in the green), I glanced in the mirror again to see said lasers growing at a rapid speed, floored The Mistress (for that is what she is called and must be obeyed) and waited. 1.23566984seconds later it was all over, she was a broken woman, the swine who was responsible for this will pay (probably not in this life, in fact probably never - they never do).

The one minute upside to this sad tale - it was nice to see an Aston Martin DB? Vaquish (on a 54 plate) move and sound the way it was built to. I even waved as it growled away into the distance.

And I wondered - who else has ever been toasted and by what.

Gerard.

PS 96 Chim but I love her (when she lets me of course)

Made the mistake once on dual slip road of seeing how accelerative my Chimaera was in comparison to a 996 TT. 120+ extra bhp per tonne counts somewhat...it looked like I was standing still...

South bound A3 between M25 and Guildford. New mcclaren mercedes SLR pulled up next to me and waited for me to go...

Now given my respectable account at the Reims grand prix circuit with the Surrey TVR boys and girls I was feeling pretty sexy - even changed cds from busted to the offspring on the autochanger.

I kicked down to third ...gave the game away (given my sports exhaust)... needless-to-say he fired off into the distance and i didn't.

I've never seen pick-up like it. First time i've been made to feel really slow.

Gutted.

In my Chim I drove in convoy with a Diablo, whose owner wasn't entirely unknown to me.

I gave it as large as I could, and I may as well have been stationary.

Mind you since I've had the Cerb nothing has come close ....

"Avez vous ever been toasted?"

NAH!

But pick your battles.
SLR vs 400 Chim - your only 400bhp and half a million quid out!

Went up against a Ruf 911 at VMax once in the griff. Fk me those things shift!!! Not really had many problems with much else on the road and a recent encounter with an unmarked traffic car should make sure I don't do any of that business on public roads again!!!

Try a session with Craig & Co on one of his V-Max events at Bruntingthorpe.

It's soul destroying!

The opnly thing that has ever got the better of the Peril was a motor bike.

Don't know what sort of bike it was but we picked up together at a roundabout and it left us after a spirited run down a slip road and onto the A120.
