Who is Top Gear's STIG!!!!
Discussion
The first (black) Stig was Perry McCarthy who was let go either because of contractal issues (he asked for too much money) or because of the re-issue of his autobiography with his picture as him as the stig on the front.
The new Stig (white) is Ben Collins, who can been seen in the episode where they race cars down a hill against the national off-road boarding champion - the one where he crashes the Lancer Evo VII or VIII and then climbs on board a Bowler Wildcat.

Interesting answer, esp with regards to Ben Collins. Suffice to say yes and no.
The last Stig has been Stigs. Damon has been Stig on a few occasions and there have been at least 2 others that Ive noticed, but Ive not known who they were. So that makes it Damon, Ben and I wonder who else?

Also driving the Mercedes SL for the parachute jump into the car stunt on an earlier program.
Black Stig definately Perry McCarthy
White Stig (at least two Stigs, probably four)
Ben Collins
Damon
etc etc (Was it Damon in the Renault? couldn't have been Ben Collins)
I remember (photographed), Perry McCarthy rolling his VanDieman FF1600 RF84? into oblivion at Oulton Park after messing with Sheffield's John Booth (now Manor Motorsport). He should have put the pictures in his autobiography,
daft sod let go of the steering wheel!!
he was very lucky.
If I knew how I would post the pics.

DJC, Where do you get your info from that Damon Hill has been the Stig?
There are certainly different driving styles involved along the way - you can see how some laps the cars seem to drift, brake late, while others are very clinical and well driven.
