Sagaris weekend at the TVR Centre

Sagaris arrives early next month at Barnet dealer

The new Sagaris will arrive at the TVR Centre in Barnet early next month and the Centre will be holding an open weekend at which people can view the car first hand.
 
The doors will be open from 9am to 5pm on Saturday 5th March and Sunday 6th March. All are welcome although they do ask that you contact them to let them know that you're going so that they can gauge numbers.

Snacks and light refreshments will be available.

Funny. I've not found a Noble that can keep up with me yet!!! Probably shoddy driving though!

Come on then you knob-le freaks (who seem to spend an inordinate amount of time over on tvr threads) let's settle this properly - with lap times. Starting with the Nurburgring. I'm taking my Sagaris there this spring and I'll set you a genuine bridge to bridge time to beat. You are of course welcome to come along and try to keep up but judging from the amount of knobles in flames I've seen at track days I'd bring your nomex undercrackers if I was you!

I've only once had a chance to guage myself against a Noble. That was one driven by someone I know to be very adept at hooning the lanes and B-roads. He was keeping up with the Elises on the SELOC organised Duxford-Bruntingthorpe run last year down a horribly rough and twisty lane and I was keeping up with him.

I don't think either the Noble or the TVR were very suited to the conditions though.

I think that Gianluca Gregis (elisek) the MD of the Italian Noble dealer is taking his Noble on the ring soon - I'm sure he'd be happy to go back-to-back with you! :-)

Re your comment on charcoaled nobles - this is very interesting - how many have you seen (I go to many Noble only days, and events where Nobles vie with other marques, including TVR's and have never seen one in flames)? ;-(

The last track day at Brands I saw a very fiery noble being covered in fire extinguisher gunk. The owner did not look best pleased. There was a roaring blaze coming from the engine compartment.

I don't doubt the noble's handling but I think the styling is primitive and clumsy compared to the cutting edge artistry of tvr's design department.

And I don't get noble fanatics spending lots of time on tvr threads and telling us to buy one. Maybe they are desperate dealers incognito? There are plenty of cars I don't like but I don't waste my time over on their threads. Each to his own I reckon. But there's no evidence yet that any noble will be able to better a sagaris on track. They are good but the laws of physics do still apply, even to nobles.

What we really need is a Noble chassis with it's super dooper handling characteristics and TVR everything else. Including the engine and especially the styling/interior. Sorry, I don't want a Mondeo V6 however boosted it might be. Heck you can get a 400hp EVO too, but I don't want that engine either.

Saying that, the new Noble looks nice - you know, the one that will cost more than an AMV8/911 ... oops. (TVR may of course make the same mistake yet ...)

Mmmm...

That is one fine car! I can think of one RO of the year who may have to stuggle with his conscience.

I'm just glad I have a few years of "wind in the hair" motoring to do before I consider a hard top.

...er... in my experience the tamora and the t350 if run are both v.sweet handlers. I was getting the rear drifting in the wet this very night after a spot of club 100 karting. The t350 is very communicative and progressive, a corker of a chassis, a real blast to drive on filthy winter roads, much better than any turbo charged equivalent I'll wager.

Huge fun. Anyone who doubts tvr, drive a t350. They are awesome, inspiring cars. Innit.

Agree with the interior styling comment - and that's from a Noble owner!

Re the Ford engine, I've had TVR's in the past and I love the torquey engines and most excellent exhaust note but the benefit of the Ford V6 is millions of Euros in development and testing providing a highly reliable unit.

BTW, the Noble exhasut note gets louder the hotter it is and sounds much more "tuned" and race-like than any TVR I've heard lately - IMHO!
