What do you say

...when someone says "Nice car mate"
It happens every time I take the car out.
Still not sure how to deal with the "slowing for lights, someone in a large group yells something, windows are always down for obvious reasons
but never know what to say other than 'thanks' "
Ignoring them makes you look like a to$$er. I tried that once, the guy yelled again, all I could muster (100+ yoofs in search of beer on both sides of the road) was "Cheeeeers"

Lucky sod, I'd love to drive something that made people say that.
Guy I used to work for dealt classic ferraris, used to drive to the supermarket, go inside long enough for a crowd to gather, then go back cos he'd 'forgotten' his wallet. He used to ignore the comments, but I'm sure thats one quick way to get your paintwork keyed...

I was in the local Kwik Fit on Saturday for a bit of wheel balancing and the bloke there commented on how nice it was to meet someone with a great car who wasn't dead blase (sp?) about it! The fact is, whenever someone tells me how great my car is I can't help grinning at them and then boring them to death with how much more great I think my baby is!
Definately say thanks then give them a demo!!!

Yup, lovely for about 6 months, then you get fed up with every freak in creation thinking you're public property. Bit like being famous but without the money.
Probably just me, but it's the only thing I won't miss when mine goes.

I'm exactly the same :yesyes:. Had so much positive feedback but will never get tired of it
. Better than getting it keyed or the like.
Even had some guy and his Son taking pics of it once in a petrol station after I'd shown them round it

I usually just give a smile and an appreciative nod.
Was in traffic last week, and in my drivers door mirror, saw guy behind in a Kia giving me a
As I got to roundabout, he leant out window and shouted, "Give it some mate". I had to oblige...didn't I?
Also few weeks back, come back to my car in Homebase car park to an elderly foreign couple (Italian i think) looking over my Cerb.
"What make?" the guy asked. "Tee Vee Arr", I said. But the old lady said it all.
Arms out-stretched towards my car, she said in a strong Italian accect... "Oh...She is very beautiful."
and went on their way.....
I was actually speechless. Made my day that did.

The attention you get really is insane
As posted in my caption comp thread, pulling up today outside the top gear studio (the cerb was the only car allowed in)... in front of clarkson and 200 people who ALL literally stopped, and just stared
Ive never experienced anything quite like the cerbera, thats for sure!
