solar powered trickle charger

I want to stick one in the car as Im off for a few weeks holiday and dont want to come back to a dead cerb.

Sadly I cant plug the car in, it has to be a solar jobbie. Will A solar charger actually put much charge back into the car at all?

Cant risk not buying one, wondering if someone knows a bit about the various models on offer or advice on what/where to buy etc.

P.S. Do get the higher wattage ones, I think the £19 version was 5 watts. You can also look in campervan and boat ads for them

It's £21.99 including free p&p but beware they just sent mine in the post with no stamps so I ended up paying £2 for delivery. Otherwise its a good bit of kit. It put enough of a charge into my battery after a failed start one morning within 30 mins. (used my mates which persuaded me to buy one).

I've been looking for one of these as well, only problem is they are all for putting in the windscreen(There's always a few on e-bay). I need one that's weather proof to go on top of the garage.

Have a look at Maplins, they have a variety on offer. In-car, on wall, on roof.
I got one that attaches to my wall and I run the wires inside to the battery. Seems to hold up ok after 5 weeks of non use while I work.

If anyone is interested Maplin have some in sale until the 26th. A 1.8W (think thats what it said) solar charger will cost £20. Can plug into the cig lighter or clip directly onto battery. Just go me one.

Not to worry, more in stock tomorrow or Friday. Approximately £22 including the VAT. Hopefully it will help me sort out the battery woes that I'm suffering at the moment. Like needing to replace it...
