Chim or Griff headlamp cowels...

Hi chaps

Just popped over from the S series forum to see if one of you kind soles could do us a favour?
I am working on a prototype of a perspex headlamp cowel that would be made for an S and I understand is a fitment on some Chims and Griffs,like was on the E type.
As I am starting from scratch with scissors and sheets of perspex I wondered if anyone with a spare Chim cowell could loan me one for a few days.
I have the profile sorted out but am stuck at the headlamp surround end and would benefit from seeing one in the flesh.

Dosen't matter if its a broken one or in any shape.

The chim was only fitted with headlamp cowls on the very last few. 2001 and on I think. The piccy on the front of the bible 2nd edition shows the chim front head lamp with the cowl installed. Sorry I dont have a piccy.

I have the S series fitment headlamp cowls sitting in a lock-up…. They look (and affix) in the same manner as those on the Chim, and replace the silver ring around the headlamps on the S.

I didn't know you ended up with those ! I was chasing after them a while back.

I get the impression this thread is about creating a complete poly cover for the lights a'la Griffith and 2001 on Chimaera though..

Yep, did end up with them. I was looking to "convert" them to perspex covers as an all-in-one unit...

Interesting.... you should really get someone to make a mould off them before someone hacks them about as they are pretty much a one off pair now

Can the Chim perspex covers fit the pre covered in cars - thought I did not like them but coming round now. Or are the wings and lights inside the pre-cover ones different? Mine is a 99.
