Out of curiosity, what would you do?

First time here so hi.
What would you do if your car was smashed up whilst it was being serviced at your main dealer?
Would you want it back after they had repaired it? Would you expect them to supply you with a replacement car whilst your car was being repaired?
Has anyone been in this situation and if so what happened?
The reason I'm asking this question is that my 50K car was spotted being trashed whilst it was at the dealers having a service!!!!

I would definitely want a courtesy car.
And, I wouln't want them repairing it, I would want to take it to another garage of my choice.
Also,I would want an independent assesment of the damage to check that it was viable to repair safely.

Yep, agree with all of that, if true, that is simlpy not on!!! I would also write a letter to TVR itself, detailing what you know and what you saw!

I think things are very different if they didn't volunteer full info on the incident. If they tried to cover it up, then you should inform TVR, the TVRCC etc etc as this level of dishonesty should mean that people aren't recommended to go there.
If, however, they openly admitted the incident and put right all of the damage without hesitation then they are acting in good faith. I would however insist on a courtesy car for the time that their repairs (over and above the time agreed for the service) inconvenienced you. I would also consider requesting that they paid for a second-party to inspect the damage/repairs - that would depend entirely on your relationship with them and your trust in their competance.
Assuming it's not totally trashed and only a minor repair then i'd want the car fixed to my satisfaction and some kind of compensation, oh and if it was a TVR approved dealer then i think a letter should go to moleskin.
I'd aso want a letter staing that if any further problems were encountered with the car that were unforseen at the time of repair, then the garage would pay up all costs to rectify.
