When Les Edgar spoke at the Neil Garner Open day he said that the new facility would be close to a race track so that the new owner had the potential to drive the car under supervision on a track as part of the delivery experience. It's a bit of a drive to Castle Combe unless they will be able to use the runway complex as a test track?

Not a big circuit, but Llandow not far from St.Athans (15mins) Pembrey is over an hour away and the Circuit of Wales in the Ebbw Vale will be about an hour away (if its ever built)

I se it's also made the BBC and ITN sites too, good PR nonetheless for the marque. Though Autocar would have got the scoop, but it is as I suspect still just speculation. I would love to know where the other two potential sites are, perhaps one is near Cosworth and hence Silverstone to satisfy the the track aspect.

Great to see plans firming up. I see its accredited to sources close to TVR so we'll have to see what comes through on the TVR website.

The village of St Athan is next to RAF St Athan east camp where number 4 School of Technical Training was based. RAF St Athan west camp was always for big repairs of aircraft and I think it is now called MOD St Athan?
The report says Aston are going to use the large hangar (presumably previously used for AWACS and Tankers) and that TVR will be just a few miles away. So maybe not on the airfield then?
Brings back many memories of early mechanic and technician training there. Happy days and plenty of this drink

Very astute marketing and PR by TVR to ride on the back of the Aston news, even if they end up somewhere else they've had good free exposure.

How TVR is this new co? They could as easily call themselves Gilbern.

Given their past dubious attempts at quality control, would it really be advisable to locate to a country associated with "leeks" !! I'll get me coat! biggrin

What trade were you lain MT fitter, l'm workshops, yes the carpenters arms outside east camp always stripper's on for the trainees and the valley commando girls were bused onto camp to provide some morale smile

Maybe that will all start up again once Aston and TVR move the girls from lantwit major and cowbridge will be back to saints aka St athan once more and the carpenters back open again sticky carpets and stripper's with Warsteiner on tap

Hi Mark, I was A/Tech/Propulsion but do not recall the strippers in the Carpenters drunk.
In my day it was Double Diamond, Blue Nun and chicken in the basket.
I spent an inordinate amount of time driving my Vauxhall Viva GT down to Barry Island and promoting good relations with the more mature local ladies in the late night bars - the true meaning of grab-a-granny. It was not so much sticky carpets as sticky fingers. redcard

Back on topic, if I lived down there I think I too would be sending in my CV like SteveJ.
