Hello! Me and my father is renovating our TVR and we found this black rectangular box. I would like to know what it is

The box is completely solid except for 2 holes on one side. One of the holes is squareular and has 3 pegs inside of it, the other hole
is circular and around it is a piece of paper which says, Min, Max, Sensitivity.

On the top of the box is another piece of paper which says "THIS FACE TO VEHICLE INTERIOR" and Marconi
DVM 2103
SER. No.
94/05

What is this box and what function does it have.

Sorry for the grammar.

Big Al.

Where on the vehicle did you find it?

What is the approximate size?

IIRC it could be the interior alarm sensor box.

I expect an expert will be along shortly. smile

A model of TVR and a photo of the box would be helpful.

If it is a bit of the alarm then contact Dave at H F Solutions.

Microwave sensor for the alarm. Found in numerous places, most of them completely useless for the units intended purpose.

There is also a Black Box for the Speedo to convert the signal on some models

Sounds like an alarm movement sensor in that location. Earlier Meta versions of this gave out a constant field, later ones pulse every three seconds to save battery energy. If you adjust it to max sensitivity you probably won't be able to approach the vehicle with out setting off the alarm. Generally alarm installers adjust them so that the cockpit is the sensitive zone.

I had a black box in the same place. Turns out it was the control unit for a radar detector I later discovered hidden down in the front valence.
