Disappearing Taimars
Discussion
Many would say that the Taimar with it's rear tail gate is an improvement over a 3000M.
Downside is that the car does not feel as taught as the M and you will, from time to time, have issues with exhaust fumes getting into the car via the tail gate (easily sorted).
A well sorted Taimar over a well sorted 3000M?
I would probably chose the Taimar (cos I'm old and don't want to crawl over seats to pack the car for a weekend away).
25 years ago I would have probably taken the M as first choice.

It's a long time ago (early '80's), but I still remember trying to cure all the rattles in the tailgate of my Taimar - never did totally eliminate them! Expect the 3000M is better in that regard.
Part of the feeling taught thing I think David (3000m almost... rattle free). Thanks for your opinions, gents. I never considered the extra rattles the tailgate may cause. I too am getting older so would appreciate the convenience of a usable boot so will continue waiting for a Taimar. I've always thought the Ginetta G21 was a pretty car too, but they're rarer than Taimars. If anyone knows of either that may be available, I'd be happy to offer a good home for them.
I have had my Taimar for 13 yrs and done many thousands of miles. I had the problem of ratling tailgate and fumes, but once you know how to sort them it is easy. For the rattles install some rubber bump stops. For the fumes take off the rear trim, tape up all the access holes and put the trim back on.
