Insuring the TVR as a 2nd car
Discussion
Need to find someone that I can use to insure a daily driver as well as the TVR which for the time being is sadly being reduced to an evenings and weekends car.
However, current insurers, though offering me an excellent deal for the TVR won't allow 2 cars and a few quick calls around hasn't found anywhere.
Looks like I need 10K winter miles in an oil burner and 10K summer miles in the TVR. Anyone know someone good to approach?

I have the same problem - just posted a whinge about so called specialist insurance companies not being very special at all.
I can use highstreet / internet insurers with separate quotes, only using my NCB once (on the tvr)and still get cheaper insurance than a combined scheme with a specialist! Plus, if i have no accidents i will build up a NCB on my other car.
So far i have been dissapointed with the specialist firms in the tvrcc sprint magazine - inflexible and have too many limitations.

Do a search for "mirrored NCB" as it crops up quite often.
Thats the badger..
Couldn't remember the right term for it.. Really don't want to loose theS as a daily driver, but on the other hand, the cash I will save on fuel could be used to refurbish the wheels while the old girl is being fixed..

I was with Direct Line - they wouldn't do this for me.
But switched the TVR insurance to A Manning (They're very, very nice people) and they saw me right by doing a mirrored NCB
Try MSM.
While other firms couldn't quite get the logic of the fact that if you are the only driver of two cars, you can't drive both at the same time, they did.
They've mirrored the NCB on my 3 series to the
Chim with no problems. Plus no waiting in a queue for hours to be "quoted miserable".

I have three cars with Admiral, all max no claims, the TVR with Classic Line, again with max no claims. Cant just be my old age, can it ?
Ditto, Admiral gave both the Mrs and me max no-claims, for our daily runners and then used Max no claims again for the Tuscan with Privilege
and then just to take the p*** got Admiral to match Elephant whan our renewals came through, don`t ask me how we got away with it
