Prolong and ps23 oil additives

Hello,

Being the sad b@stard that I am I've been watching the shopping channels (nothing else on telly). Anyway, they keep showing these oil additives which they test by running a car (Dodge Viper in the Prolong ad) with no oil for 100's of miles. So - has anyone ever used this stuff in a Tiv and is it worth buying?
