Europe Breakdown/recovery 3rd attempt to post, hope it works
Discussion
Couple of suggestions above - guess you're not going to change your motor insurance, just to get breakdown cover!! ;-).
I'm with ADAC. I can't fault them. They have English speaking operators when you 'phone up.
Couple of posts on here where feedback was not so good - but I can only share my experience.
Unlike RAC & AA, ADAC is a mutual/friendly organisation - NOT part of an insurance/underwriting conglomerate...so they only have to satisfy the members - NOT shareholders.
My renewal this year was Eu.89.5 for any car driven by self and wife (they cover the individual, not the car)...Probably works out at about £65-70 sterling for the year. When I left RAC (4 years ago)I was paying >£150 per year for UK and single trip to Europe cover...and that was with some haggling/TVRCC discount/loyalty etc.

Thanks for the advice. Covering through the insurance is not possible this year, I renewed with Mannings 2 weeks ago and they dont do recovery insurance. So Ive looked on the ADAC website and Im finding it difficult to find out what the difference between their standard cover and their "Plus membership". Its mostly in German. I think this is who I will go with, just wish I could check the policy covers the driver and not an age problem because of the car.

It does, the car is irrelevant it is the driver that is covered. Two drivers for €109 per year anywhere in Europe including hotel costs, hire car and repatriation of your car if it can't be fixed locally.
Only down side is they use the AA here in the UK.

I've had ADAC 'Plus Membership' since 2007.Plus Membership covers you for all Europe.
As mentioned, it covers the person, not the car, so it doesn't matter what you are driving.

So how do I cover my car with ADAC. Their online application form only accepts a German address not a UK one. Has anyone done it over the phone.
Google ADAC for a German telephone number.Call, and ask for membership enquiries and an English speaker. Practically everyone I spoke to at ADAC could deal with basic enquiries.
