Up from glnridding, through the old mine, to the tarn. The left up onto striding edge, over to top of HV and down the zig zags back into the valley... very nice.... Mist cleared while we were on the edge/summit... which was nice!!

you?

Glenridding, up the steep route to Striding...my mate bottles with vertigo so we split. I crossed Striding to the summit, then down Swirral to meet my mate. He now thinks he can handle Swirral, so back up there to top. Mist clears and he has another vertigo attack and can't descend Swirral, so down the zig zags back to Glenridding

Great walk....head for heights permitting

We had one guy with us (9 in the group) who is petrified of heights... With a bit of encoragement he made it over striding!! Well done to him.. Takes a lot to go up there even if you do not suffer vertigo!! (We did the top route as well - not the paths on the side!!)

We should have met up... would make an interesting venue for the next PH meet!

-I tried all sorts of things to get my mate across, from gentle encouragement to the threat of having my walking pole lodged somewhere nasty...nowt worked

Got about half way across Striding on the ridge proper, but got frustrated with all the slow traffic and dropped down to the lower path for a gentle jog to the chimney

Swirral was better (less crowded) and I got to go up and down it

Me thinks not many PHer's would go for this venue
