I need to get insurance sorted for a trackday in June
I'm with Directline as my normal insurance - haven't contacted them yet about it but I thought I'd ask here first.
For those without trackday insurance inclusive of their normal insurance, how did you go about getting it? Best companies, price etc....
Cheers

Oooh can of worms time again......

Sunninghill will do cover for you, or there's a couple of companies that'll do "extra" insurance. DL won't touch it with a bargepole.

Be warned though, it's a minefield and expensive as a bolt-on extra - the best quote I had for my old Chimaera covering up to £8k of damage (50% of the cars value) was £160! And it wouldn't cover any one else I hit, or more to the point ME if I damaged myself.

So as so many people do, I didn't bother. I just made sure my life insurance was paid and up to date.

I got a good deal from Competition Car Insurance for my Griff on a trackday. £130 for the day for £22,000 worth of damage and £2,200 excess.

Renewal just through from Sunninghill for my griff, £620 inc. trackday where excess goes upto £1,000. Been with them for 3 years, had one claim which was handled superbly.

Sunninghill is your only real option. Try the others but you will probably end up with them - they cover any official track day, not just the TVR ones.
