£2500 really ?
Discussion
Got a quote using the AA website for 4.0 Chimaera valued at £15,000. I am 25 with 5 years NCB and car will be on drive. Mileage approx 10000 p.a. have 3 points on licence (2002), no accidents and have held licence for 8 years. Do you think this is a reasonable quote?

I was in a similar situation. Peart were the cheapest for me. At the time I was 28, 0 years NCB (company car), in Lonon, kept off the road, 6k mileage limit, £1500.
Best bit (comparatively) was this year it came down to £1k.
Give them a call. They're on the web at www.peart.co.uk (I think)

I was with A Manning, and the first year was 1.2K, then it came down to £900 at renewal time. I swiched to Classic line and its £600, only 5000 miles a year tho. Im 29 and have 4 years NCB with no points. After talking to some insurers they always load the first year of TVR ownership, they say the chances are if your going to suff it, it will be in the first year!
And make sure you try www.sunninghillinsurance.co.uk as well.
gcb - not sure where you are in Hants but I am based right down the South. Mine was £550 last year at age 26 - albeit limited to 5k miles but included TVRCC trackdays if required. That was A Mannings
This year its £630, largely cos I have gone unlimited miles. I am trying to sell the Chimaera now and finding that alternative choices are far higher to insure. The TVR seems quite reasonable on insurance compared to its counterparts.

i doubt mannings will have you as you're new to tvr - but the good news is they like people who keep them on the road and in thier possesion for a year.
they sent me a cheque for 50 quid the other day, cos i moved, and said that i was due another 100 quid off next year
i've had my car since i was 28-29, and i've seen the premiums tumble.
first year with egg, who came within a fiver of tesco, but offered cash back if you had another service from them, which i did. i paid about 850 quid i think.
