We've got a Tuscan at the moment whilst the Griff is in for a respray. Great news you would think. New tyres fitted all round Friday pm so a sunny weekend to look forward to. Spent 2 hours Saturday cleaning it as we've got it for at least 4 weeks.
First drive for me on Saturday afternoon and manage to go over a brick on a roundabout at Spaghetti junction. Limp to somewhere safe and the whole of the sidewall is gashed and the gash extends about 1/2 inch onto the tread. Also a nice dent in the alloy. Managed about 20 miles and had to come home on a low loader. No space saver, no spare tyre and no tyre place answering the phone, or open, on Sunday, so no play on Sunday.
Now got a bill for just over £170 for 20 miles driving.
Am I the unluckiest person to own a TVR?

This is on top of:
June 2004 - woman reversed into Griff, buggered off and we've spent the lasty 9 months tracking her down and agreeing the claim.
Oct 2004 - front wishbones replaced.
Oct 2004 (the day after) - engine goes pop - rebuild required (did have the Tarake upgrade so a bit indulgent there).
Agreed the car to go in for a respray on 12/03/05:
9th March - someone else reverses into the front end of the Griff - light pushed in and cracks at the front end.
The Chimaera we had about 8 years back was a nightmare. We had it 12 months out of which 3-4 were in the garage. It just ran like a bag of nails and kept stalling. in the end we had to sell it back to the supplying garage. The service manager said it was Andrea's (Mrs FFG) driving. Suffice to say she wasn't happy.
I've owned a Taimar for nearly 15 years which I have spend some time, but I ecxpected this as I ran it daily. Oh yes, I did replace the chassis, but this wasn't that expensive compared to the Griff.
Maybe I should just stick to the company car and severe the link with TVR's.

You just look after the Tuscan today otherwise I'll get shot for letting you drive it again!
Mind you, I had a very red face yesterday...
Not sure I really want to say as it's sooooo embarassing - but at least it'll give you all a good laugh!
Went out at lunchtime in the Tuscan, parked and put the discklock on to ensure safety of prized car. Go to shop and return to car. Look at keys on keyring and realise the key to the lock is on my Griff keyring which is with the Griff in Bristol - I'm in Birmingham! D'oh. Had to call Paul, get him out of work to go home and find the spare key (we're decorating at the mo so everything is all over the place and nothing's where it should be!) and drive back to me in Birmingham to give me the key so I could get back to work - oh what joy!
You know, I feel better for sharing, even though I know you'll all take the p!ss - it's better than therapy this!
