Will TVR ever become 'Chav' ?

After reading Big fra's recent post on the Griffith forum, it has got me wondering (and fearing) whether TVR will ever become Chav.
Big fra is moving away from an Evo and thinking of owning a Griffith, because he reckons the Evo, along with Scooby's, has become a Chav like motor.
I attribute this mainly to their performance per pound attraction. Surely TVR has the same, if not more attraction as a 'cheaper' way to mad performance.
We seem to have escaped 'knobhead' mentality ownership thus far but with the V8S's, Chimaera and Griffiths (and even Cerbs) reaching evermore affordable prices, are we likely to see a shift in potential owners being of the scum type?

I think the running costs will prove prohibitively high for a chav. With the need for constant specialist maintenance and the relative thirst of the cars, I think we should be safe.
Also, the Imprezzas and Evos are based on 'standard' and therefore more affordable cars. I've seen plenty of kevved-up standard Lancers and Scoobys, which have just had bonnet air intakes and large exhuasts etc fitted...

Allways a risk, but I suspect we would have already seen it with the Wedges by now.
However, the new generation of Tivs don't have the classic retro look of Chimps, Cerbs and Griffs and with a bit more in the way of body kits, I think it is fair to argue that they have a higher 'Chav Rating' from the off which could put them at risk as prices fall off over time.
I think the most important test is down to how many support companies there are making glue on bits for a car. The higher the number then the higher the Chav Factor. Ie compare the number of Bently retro fit spoilers and tinting kits on the market to those available for a Scooby or Astra

Nope - TVRs will never become 'chav'
Why? Because the first chavs to get them will expect the cars to do most of the driving for them, show the car no respect and stick it into a wall backwards at 80mph. They will then quickly gain a reputation as 'killah motas' and they will go back to their Playstation style Evos and Scoobies.

I think you're right about this. The first car to really suffer from this will be the Chimaera. Why? there are lots of them and they are becoming inexpensive (older ones at least). And they will be written off. Big time. And our insurance premiums will go up. Bummer.
