Hi all,

Could the fact that the speedo has stopped working be related to a problem with the car stalling when coming to a halt at junctions etc.? The speedo stopped working at 29999, with no further activity on the odometer, and speedo is stuck at zero.

Haven't inspected the stepper motor yet - that's a job for tonight, but the stalling problem first occured when the speedo stopped so I'm thinking road-speed sensor failure, confused ECU, stepper motor not being controlled properly etc... or something like that (pleads ignorance at this point)

What's the most likely cause of the speedo failure?

Or could this be two completely unrelated problems...

Can anyone offer any advice please?

Oh, yes, it's a '97 Chimaera 400

Thanks,

Mark C

Not sure about this, but check its not just a blown fuse or dodgy connection before you start throwing money at it...
