Red dash light on permanantly since this morning
Discussion
Morning All,
Picked up the old griff from Austec on Saturday and spent the weekend driving around.
Noticed that the fuel guage and heater fans don't work but I'm pretty sure they are minor issues, however, the red dash light came on when started this morning and stayed on all the way to work.
Can anyone point me in the right sirection as to what events this light warns for?
TIA

Thanks.
Alarm fine so it would make sense that the alternater has decided to pack up over night, while having nothing better to do.
Trouble is that I drove in with lights on and may kill the battery on the way home. Leads and jump starter in another car that is up in Birmingham having a service.
Now, the big question is how long have I got beofre the battery konks?

Ah, now different answers to what I thought...I always thought it was the cold warning lights!
However, I have noticed something from Thursday when I put a brand new battery in the Griff. IF I just start her up and let ehr tick over the battery wont charge, just stays in the red zone on the counter and the top red LED comes on. If I give her a bootful of revs, the battery needle flicks up and starts charging and the red LED goes out. It could well be the alternator then!

I had this problem, it was my alternator belt that was a bit slack.
