Who does your servicing?
Discussion
Good day folks!
Sorry to trouble you but due to yet another bad show at my local garage I need to find someone to take over the care/mods of my Chimaera so your help is needed?
I'm swinging towards Austec as I want Mark Adams to spend a day doing a few jobs, I know it's three and a half hours away butI've had enough and would far prefer to travel and be happy?
Can anyone endorse Austec for their servicing or anyone else within four hours of Plymouth?
TVR Power is also a consideration.
Thanks in advance!
Corin

Corin, Austec do all of my servicing/upgrade work (in fact the car's in there now for it's 42k service and the ACT induction kit) and I can wholeheartedly recommend them.
They're all clearly passionate about TVRs and have been only too happy to spend time answering my numpty questions as well as discussing performance options etc.
Throughout this week's service, I've been called a couple of times each day to keep me updated as to progress and cost.
They've also proved to be an invaluable source for spare parts at short notice (e.g. wiper arm sourced and delivered within a day, couriered by one of the mechanics to my mate's place of work before I embarked on a driving holiday on a typically wet British weekend!).
As far as I can tell, they have a great relationship with Mark Adams and Tim Lamont, so they can certainly supply goodies as well as straightforward servicing.
I've picked up a number of threads by people who were despairing about faults with their cars that no one else seemed able to diagnose, let alone remedy, where Austec stepped up to the plate and sorted the lot out.
While I wouldn't try to speak for other PHers, I know a good number of us Sussex folk use Austec, and wouldn't consider going elsewhere - I'm sure they'll be along shortly to sing their praises!
Give them a go mate, I'm certain you wont be disappointed (and if you were up for meeting up with any of the Sussex crew while you're down, I'm sure it could be arranged
)

Really?!! My 'local garage' only has a payphone - you can dial but can't dial out!!
Austec it is then!
I went in to a local garage today at 5.20pm to buy oil, polybushes and carbon trumpets only to be told by new 'Mr Jobsworth' behind the counter at 5.29pm that parts were closed and to come back another time, when I asked if I could just have the oil he replied that all oil was bought in bulk and could not supply cartons??
I mentioned that the garage in question always supplied oil in 4 litres cans to which I was told parts is shut!
I explained that I lived in Plymouth (an hours drive) to which he just shrugged his shoulders!!!
Well after spending thousands of pounds with 'a garage' I left empty-handed.
Oh, and by the way if you think this is a little strong this is only after the last time I bought oil, I paid over the phone by card so I could collect it from the forecourt shop after work, so I drove an hour to collect to find that it had not been left out for me as promised - putting the poor girl in the kiosk in a difficult position as you can imagine so..
I had to drive to a pub to ask if someone could let me have the oil only because I was going to do over 1,000 miles at Chrimbo going to three TVR meets!
So now I just want someone that will help!

Are you picking up email?
I hope so, Corin YHM.
Got it Rich, thanks mate but final straw syndrome.
Brilliant specialist to 'a main dealer' to a waste of my time and money, I'm sorry but every time a pain in the arse.
If I'm paying someone to do a job I can do better you have to recalculate any loyalties.
