Hi
Know it's not politically correct to ask on this forum

I understand the usual issues to look for when buying the landies but is there any issues with auto against manual,as a friend has offered me one at a good price

She's a 3.9 v8

Autos are great off road but personal preference really.

I had a TD5 disco awhile back and only killed the auto box at about 130 thousand miles as I was pulling out tree stumps with it!

It was the original box and the engine went on up to 185,000 miles until I got rid of it

The only factory 3.9 V8's around then we're the Blue/Green 50th Anniversary Special Editions. If it is one of those then it is a lovely collectors car which must be increasing in value now..

In general auto's are kinder on the engine as you can't really over rev them. But they can drink a little more petrol than a manual.

Auto in traffic is great, saving you having to operate a heavy clutch. Lazy driving.

As per previous poster auto's can last forever if you change the oil and filter regularly.
