Went today.
There were a couple of Tuscan 2s which everyone was ignoring and three Sagarii which were the centre of attention. TVR have hit the sweet spot with this one. One was a DG demonstrator, one was a customer car and the third was the blue factory road test car. Doug took me out in this and I was immediately impressed at the way he could trail brake into bends from lepton plus speeds. Try that in a Cerb and you have to be awake, in a Griff it would be extremely interesting. Then it was my turn. The floor mounted pedals are excellent and allow progressive throttle control and easy heel and toeing. The backwards revcounter is a nusiance but the change lights do the job. I tried keeping the throttle full down throughout overtakes and where the Cerb would shake it's hips the Sag just did it. The performance from the speed 6 was exemplary, it just nailed the horizon. I really like the turn in. About perfect, not pointy yet no lag and you have confidence that it will turn at all speeds. Almost Caterham like. When you load it up it remains neutral, you would have to be a maniac to get it wrong in this in the dry. All in all why buy any other sports car? This makes a 997 look silly. I can predict that the factory will not be able to keep up with demand, just like in the early Griff days, this is one very special car.
Doug reckons that the speed 6 is good stuff now and that it is very sensitive to two things. Firstly being run in with care and secondly being warmed up gently. The idiots I saw last year taking their Tuscans to 7K rpm from cold at Supercar Sunday are presumably in the rebuild queue.
Another point is that the T350 is now amazing value, nearly a Sag and £15K less. Also the new factory cars are all on Goodyear F1s which seem the high speed tyre of choice just now.
Enormous thanks to everyone at DG, so nice to see TVR on the up.

Its interesting to hear your feed back! As a 2004 Tamora owner its worth pointing out how amazingly sorted my own car feels, and its a convertible too. IT shares the modern tvr parts bin (pedalas tyres etc) so you get the same benefits. Put a Super sports exhaust on one and I reckon it will sound just as good as a V8, which is why I reckon they are suddenly popular!
Have to agree with the S6 + Sports exhaust, I took mine out for a spin today, almost forgot how loud it was (well, I have been driving a 1.2 Clio around since mid-Feb!); I think the S6 married to a sports exhaust has a much wider 'repotoire' than the V8, the deep base burble gives way to what seems like an artillery barrage of pops and bangs, and spits!, and scaring the numpty walnut head in his Micra going up a hill , overtaking him in what seemed milliseconds confirmed to me why I LOVE these cars so much!
