Griff rear hood stitching

Probably been asked before but....the stitching is starting to come away around the plastic screen in my Griff rear section. Gave it a clean at the weekend I noticed that a small section of the hood had popped out when the rear section was folded down - easily put back - its around about 1/2 inch worth.

Has anybody any experience of fixing this - any people/companies to recommend. Is this a local fix or time to start thinking about a new hood.

There are a lot of threads about rear window stitching - they must be loose threads

Seriously though - my rear window needs re-stitching or even replacing. Can anyone recommend somewhere in the Southampton/Winchester/Salisbury area where I can get this done?

need somewhere in midlands to do my rear screen on my chim, preferably cheap and near tamworth

Try South Coast trim(?) They are just off Bedford Place in Soton.
Did my seats a treat.

My hood done exactly this a few weeks back, my mum fixed it a treat I'm not offering her services but don't rule out DIY or any mates handy with a needle and thread.

I'm in Atherstone. I see you've just recently joined. You should have come along to the local TVR Car Club meet in Meriden last Sunday! Mail me, and we can meet up some time.

Try a few good camping/tent/caravan awning shops in the yellow pages. Tent and awning windows need stitching as well from time to time and the rapairs will run into pounds not tens or hundreds of pounds.....

One guy reckoned that he would stitch in a whole new plastic window made of thick awning window material for £15 all in!.

All I needed to do was to get the roof off.

And therein lies the problem. There is about 4-5 inches of roof material that is is glued down under the header rail (or what ever its called - the bit of the roof that drops down). You'll never get it off without ripping it. I know a few people who've had the rear screen replaced professionaly but they all resulted in having a whole new rear roof section (and then the targa recovered to match of course) becasue the rear section wouldnt come off without ripping.

Had a small section of mine restitched recently. Speak to Austec if you live anywhere near Gatwick. I don't but was passing with work. Top job.

My mum lives in Crawley so I've been thinking about popping into Austec for a while.

The car is with Dave Batty at the moment with a starter motor problem so he's now also looking into it for me.
